Kakarot
Carrot and ginger are a classic combination, and adding basil gives the drink another neat layer of flavor. This recipe was built with vodka but is great with any clear spirit!

DIFFICULTY: MODERATE
TIME: 3 MIN + 10 MIN FOR JUICER
GLASSWARE: COLLINS
RECIPE:
- 2 oz of your favorite clear spirit 
 (Far North Spirits Sölveig Gin, Ålander Rum, or Du Nord Craft Spirits L’Etoile Vodka)
- 2 oz Carrot Juice 
 (Using a juicer, or from the bottle)
- ¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice 
- ½ oz Simple Syrup * 
- 3 Basil Leaves, Torn 
- Ginger Beer (such as Earl Giles or Reed’s) 
INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine all ingredients (except ginger beer) in a shaker tin with ice. Shake hard. Strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice, and top with ginger beer.
SIMPLE SYRUP:
- 1 cup white sugar 
- 1 cup water 
Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, then cool. Use right away or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
