Campfire Whiskey
There’s a very popular brand of cinnamon whiskey that is neither authentic nor local. It also happens to taste like college. This week’s recipe gives you a local craft authentic alternative.

TIME: 10 MIN + 5 DAYS

Recipe:
- 1 Bottle Far North Spirits Bødalen Bourbon 
- 3 ½ oz Demerara Simple Syrup * 
- 1 Tbsp. Chili Flakes 
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks 
- 3 Whole Cloves 
- 1 Apple, Diced 
- 1 Large Orange Peel 
INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine ingredients in a mason jar, seal, and shake. Let rest for 5 days, shaking whenever possible. After 5 days, strain, add 5 oz of water, and then enjoy with your friends around a campfire.
SIMPLE SYRUP:
- 1 part Demerara sugar 
- 1 part water 
Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, then cool. Use right away or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
