Cabin Cooler

“Watermelon is deliciously amazing and easy to use in cocktails. Whenever you use this much liquid in a cocktail you need to remember it counts as a portion of dilution, so shake less. This cocktail requires a juicer or blender, but could also just use muddled melon. Try adding dill, mint or basil!”

GLASSWARE: COLLINS

Recipe:

  • 2 oz Far North Spirits Ålander White Rum

  • 2 oz Fresh Watermelon Juice

    (blend and strain or juice)

  • ½ oz Simple Syrup

  • ½ oz Fresh Lemon Juice

  • 1 Bar Spoon (1/8 oz) Balsamic Vinegar

  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional - fresh herbs of your choice

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine all ingredients in shaker tin, add ice, and SHORT shake. Strain into ice-filled Collins glass. Garnish with fresh watermelon skewered and fresh herbs.

SIMPLE SYRUP:

In a saucepan combine:

  • 1 cup granulated white sugar

  • 1 cup water

Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, then cool. Use right away or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
