Blendid

Velvety and refreshing, a fruit smoothie cools down any hot late-summer day. Make this one with or without the rum so the whole family can enjoy, regardless of age or drinking habits.

GLASSWARE: COLLINS

RECIPE:

  • 1/8 Normal-Sized Cantaloupe(Rind Removed)

  • 3 Basil Leaves

  • 2 oz Far North Spirits Ålander Rum

  • 1 oz Simple Syrup *

  • ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • 1 Scoop of Ice

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth. Serve in a tall glass (like a Collins) and garnish with additional basil leaves.

SIMPLE SYRUP:

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup water

Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, then cool. Use right away or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
